You Need A Doctor Baby, You Scared? - A like Asking Alexandria

“You cunt, you're a wanker, mate!“

First thing I ever learned from Asking Alexandria is how to curse in english and how to do it in every possible sentence. The second, and very important, thing I learned is that sometimes it's totally fine not to give a shit about anything. Well, I'm still working on that but I have the perfect role models there.
I honestly have no idea how I got into Asking Alexandria. One day I was just like “hey, let's check them out, they're probably good.“ - little did I know about how good they really are. Little did I know about how Danny's screaming can take my anger away and silence the voices in my head. How James and his drums push me forward when I go on a run, how I could spend hours curled up in bed and listening to Bens voice in Dedication because it calms me down (and because I love his accent but shhh let's not talk about accents now).
The reason why I love Asking Alexandria so much is very simple actually: They're everything I couldn't be. They're loud, they drink, they say what's on their minds and don't give a fuck about what anybody might think. They just enjoy their lives to the fullest and that's something I really admire while I do the complete opposite most of the time. However, the more I listen to them, the more I tell myself that I have to let go sometimes and just do what I wanna do. Fuck the anxiety and everything connected to it and live for a while.
So, on the surface Asking Alexandria looks like a bunch of jerks who don't wanna grow up but actually they help many people out there dealing with their lives. They may curse a lot and talk about sex and groupies and drugs and what
not but at the end of the day they go on stage and make thousands of people very happy and that's what counts.
My all time favourite song has to be Someone, Somewhere. Firstly because Danny sings during the whole song (his screaming is fine but I enjoy his singing voice way too much) and secondly because of the lyrics. If you look at Danny and the way he talks and acts most of the time, you could assume that he only ever creates songs like Not The American Average but that's where Someone, Somewhere comes along to prove you wrong. I basically know nothing about his life and only a few things about his past but I believe that this song tells us a lot about the Danny we fans usually don't get to see. About how he got into music, about the relationship to his parents, about the connection to his band members. This is a very honest song and I'd do a lot to get the chance to just sit down with Danny and talk to him about it and to learn about the story behind it.
