Album of the Week: We Are The In Crowd - Best Intentions

Saturday morning, you just got out of bed, time to put some music on. While you're making coffee, Rumor Mill by We Are The In Crowd fills your kitchen and makes you dance around until the coffee is running through the machine. This song kicks off the album Best Intentions, which is full of tracks which definitely raise your mood immediately. For some reason I've never really been a fan of female-fronted bands but We Are The In Crowd totally got me. Taylor Jardine, Jordan Eckes, Mike Ferri, Rob Chianelli, and Cameron Hurley started making music together in 2009, one year later they released their debut EP Guaranteed To Disagree. On October 4th 2011 the band released their first full length album Best Intentions, which is my album of the week.
After finishing your coffee, you go to the bathroom, turn on the shower, the fourth song on the album is playing: Kiss Me Again what they recorded twice: Once Tay sings with Jordan and once she sings it with Alex Gaskarth, vocalist in All Time Low. I have to admit that I like the version with Alex better, simply because his voice assorts very well with Tay's (and because Alex is one of my favourite vocalists on the planet).
You get out of the shower as the first rather slow song is playing: All Or Nothing. The tunes take your thoughts with them on a little journey, you forget that you're standing in front of the mirror in your towel because you're busy listening. You wake up from your state of trance because Exits And Entrances pulls you back into your bathroom, you dry your hair and get dressed.
You flip through the morning mail as a postcard from one of your friends slips into your hands. While See You Around is playing in the background, you can feel the warm breeze of summer on your skin, a light wind in your hair, the warm sand of the beach under your bare feet. You remember the last time you went on a holiday with your friends.
Your phone rings, it's your best friend. She got dumped and can barely speak from all the tears, with one ear you hear how You've Got It Made is playing, how ironic. The last song on the album finally contains what you tell your best friend: You'll have Better Luck Next Time. With this being said you turn off your CD-Player, take your bag and leave the house.
That's basically how Best Intentions and We Are The In Crowd accompanied me through the week and most likely will accompany me for a little longer because I fell in love with Tay's voice and I can't wait for the next album which will hopefully be released this year.
